“Constant”—a film by Sasha Litvintseva and Beny Wagner—is a journey through the social and political histories of measurement.
For most of recorded history, the human body was the measure of all things. The film asks what led measurement to depart from the body and become a science unto itself.
1 0 0 9 worked on animations for the film, using photogrammetry and point cloud visualisations to envisage inaccessible spaces and collaged places, and in addition designed the exhibition when the work was exhibited at Seoul Mediacity Biennale. A combination of programmed lighting and graphical surface treatments oriented the viewer, inviting them to measure themselves against their surroundings and in relation to the film.
